Julie Brash
My Story
Julie Brash is a self taught artist who could always draw and used her natural ability to design costumes and posters. These talents helped her immensely in her dance studio where she taught Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical and Acro.
She was born in Scotland, raised in South Africa and Zimbabwe and has resided in Canada since 1991.
In 2016 started to lean towards paper crafting and journaling. Julie is an avid card maker to this day and loves making one-of-a-kind cards, which she sells at Christmas markets and through her online store. Her cards are her way of creating art on days that might not have a lot of time for a journal page or to start a painting, but satisfy her need to create regularly.
She discovered that she had a real love of art, but decided to make it her own journey rather than watch online tutorials and join art classes. She wanted to keep her work organic and true to her inner self. As her journaling progressed she was asked to teach at a local independent craft supply store where she started branching more into playing with drawing and painting, including experimenting in watercolours and finally, acrylics. As with everything, practice makes permanent, so she practices regularly.
Julie is currently a member of the group Artists on Main Osoyoos and participated in her first ever exhibition in October 2020.
This website is a portal to her work. Feel free to look at her work in the online store and gallery.
